The Lord let his face shine upon you

Friday, January 1, 2016

Numbers 6:24-26
The Lord bless you and keep you! The Lord let his face shine upon you and be gracious to you! The Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace!

Resolutions we should all consider making for 2016 (from Relevant Magazine):
To spend more time in conversations that matter
To complain less and do more
To spend less time worrying
To pray more
To listen to more new music every week
To cut others some slack
To cut yourself some slack
To read more good books
To challenge our own presuppositions more often
To spend less time on/with your phone
To share more meals with people you care about

If You Want
A Poem by St. John of the Cross

If
you want
the Virgin will come walking down the road
pregnant with the holy
and say,

"I need shelter for the night, please take me inside
your heart,
my time is so close."

Then, under the roof of your soul, you will witness the
sublime
intimacy, the divine, the Christ
taking birth
forever,

as she grasps your hand for help, for each of us
is the midwife of God, each of us.

Yes there, under the dome of your being does creation
come into existence externally, through your womb,
dear pilgrim--
the sacred womb of your soul,

as God grasps our arms for help; for each of us is
His beloved servant
never
far.

If you want, the Virgin will come walking
down the street pregnant
with Light and
sing ...

Lord, let your face shine upon us. You came to us born of a woman, born under the law, and we have been adopted as sons and daughters through you. Continue to send us your Spirit, and lead us into the way of eternal life.
