Kingdom praise

Tuesday, November 29, 2005

Luke 10:21
Jesus, full of joy through the Holy Spirit, said, "I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children. Yes, Father, for this was your good pleasure."

The synergy generated by communication between God's three persons flows freely here. Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, praises the Father. So much of God in just one place. Energy abounds.

I can't really write sensibly about the trinity of God. But I do sense the joyful power Jesus experiences at this moment, as the Holy Spirit shows him just how much the Father is pleased. The three-in-one are really working together.

The "little children," those disciples, don't ask Jesus for explanations or rationales for his requests. They have been sent out two by two into the country to witness and minister to many, and they are coming back with stories and successes ... "even the demons submit to us in your name."

Jesus' miracles convince and heal where words can do nothing. As his disciples move among the people with God's power in their touch, Jesus knows the kingdom of God is being restored on the earth. So long the haven for Satan, his teaching of pride and self-centeredness dominant even in the wise and learned, earth's redemption is now at hand.

Lord, all things on earth have been committed to you. I am just a little child. Let me stay that way and rush to do your bidding every day.
